Sepang, 8th March 2019 – Boon Siew Honda continues its commitment towards the development of local racing talent through motorsport activity with MUSASHi Boon Siew Honda Racing Team. The team will be part of the overall lineup for the SuperSport 600 class category for the 2019 season of Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC).
The team will make their presence felt at all 7 rounds of Asia Road Racing Championship across the region with the help of 2018 Underbone 150cc champion, Helmi Azman and fellow teammate, the equally talented, Azroy Hakeem who is a season experienced rider in the SS600 class. Helmi Azman introduction into the team will mark the departure of Zaqhwan Zaidi who will be competing in the newly established ASB1000 class under the Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA team.
Back in 2011, just one year after MUSASHi Boon Siew Honda Racing Team was founded, the team manages to secure its first team award championship during the 2012 season of Asia Road Racing Champion under the helm of Ryuichi Kiyonari. It continues to dominate the SS600 class consecutively for 4 years, winning the highly coveted, team award title from 2012 to 2016.
The long-term partnership between Boon Siew Honda and MUSASHi was first initiated in 2012. Over the past years, this partnership has witness numerous achievements by the team achieving top 5 team awards position during last year season of Asia Road Racing Championship.
The team achievements has not gone unnoticed as it manage to secure Idemitsu as one of the team sponsor. In the scope of this collaboration, Idemitsu has been supporting the racing team in achieving its ambition of being the top team for the SS600 class.
For the 2019 season however, the team has set its aim for an overall championship position recapping the team’s former glory. Though a highly coordinated efforts, well construct strategy in addition of a strong racer lineup, MUSASHi Boon Siew Honda Racing Team hopes that this season will be a season of success.
