The restored power will be supplied by Honda very own liquid cooling and Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) engine which is a great performer in all traffic conditions. Tests conducted under a controlled environment by the manufacturer suggest that the PCX could reach an acclaimed 51.2 km/l with idle stop system activated.

Engine power is delivered through the Honda V-Matic Dry Type Automatic Centrifugal Clutch transmission to the rear wheel. The V-Matic transmission has been revised to further expand the range of gear ratios. It delivers smooth acceleration in the low-speed, and as you progress through mid to high-speed range you get stronger acceleration; ideal for a quick boost when overtaking.

The 149 cc SOHC 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine has a bore and stroke of 57.300 mm x 57.907 mm with a compression ratio of 10.6: 1. It generates 14.5 hp (10.8 kW) at 8,500 rpm and punches 13.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Engine oil capacity is 0.9 liter.

A hydraulic caliper binds the brake disc up front with a drum brake at the rear, a typical setup for scooters. It rides on 14 M/C x MT2.15 front tires with a 14 M/C x MT3.50 rear tyre. Ground clearance is 137 mm for the 130 kg scooter.
